Why Blowfish Is My Go-To Hangover Solution

By: Holland Baker

Ever since alcohol became part of my social activities, the impending hangovers have come with it. Learning how to deal with them has always been a learning process, with no real winner standing out among the myriad methods. I’ve tried drinking coconut milk, I’ve eaten the greasiest of foods and I’ve downed more water and ibuprofen than I can remember. Though sometimes these methods have helped, more often than not they haven’t quite been up to the task of actually making me feel better.

So when I came across Blowfish for Hangovers, touting an actual treatment, I had to try it out. I picked up a 12-tablet box, which is valued at $11.99. The tablets are then packaged in little packs of two, which are conveniently sized to fit nicely in your purse, clutch, pocket or what have you.

The only thing left to do was to consume enough alcohol to warrant a hangover. An easy feat considering I’d brought my tablets along on a weeklong trip to London. With pubs and open-carry laws galore, causing a hangover was the easy part. After a night out at the pub followed by some wine consumption back at the flat where I was staying, I was properly hungover the next morning.

There’s nothing like a £6 bottle of wine to help cause a hangover.

When I woke up, I had a pounding headache, and I was groggy and very dehydrated. I did not want to get out of bed, but I had a whole day of flitting around London ahead of me, so I needed to rally. I prepared myself some breakfast and a glass of water for my Blowfish.

I dropped two tablets into my glass of water, as the packaging suggests, and waited for the tablets to fizz and dissolve. I downed my glass, which had a very citrusy taste. If dissolving two tablets, I would recommend using a large glass, as the tablets can become very concentrated otherwise.

After finishing my glass, I ate my breakfast and started to get ready for the day. Within about 30 minutes, my symptoms were already starting to disappear. My headache subsided, and I was awake and ready for the day within an hour of taking the Blowfish. I was able hop around the city, with a museum visit slotted in the day no less, without having felt the effects of the night before.

Blowfish really got the job done. It helped ease my symptoms enough so that I was fully functional the next day without becoming too sluggish. I will definitely be keeping some tablets in my purse and on my nightstand from here on out.
